Recipe for

Panettone Bread and Butter Pudding

Ingredients

  • Enough leftover panettone to fill a baking dish
  • Butter
  • Custard
  • Milk of choice
  • Optional: demerara sugar
  • Optional: dried fruit, sultanas'n'that

Steps

  1. Butter a baking dish – one appropriate for baking puddings in, obviously
  2. Slice panettone – I guess they're round so you could even make lil wedges
  3. Butter panettone
  4. If your custard is in a tin or a carton, mix if with a bit of milk. It'll take some elbow grease to get it to come together, so if you don't fancy it, fine.
  5. If you're making powdered custard or fancy fuck custard, then make it milkier... only a little, so it soaks into the christmas bread better
  6. Layer panettone into dish, slices overlapping a little
  7. Pour over custard and let sit for 30 mins or so
  8. Scatter optional items over the top
  9. Bake for about 30-40 minutes at 160c

This will take actual days off your life, but life is for living innit.
