Recipe for

Simple stir fried vegetable noodles

Ingredients

Sauce

  • 1.5tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1.5tbsp Shaoxing cooking wine
  • 1.5tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2tsp sugar
  • 2tsp cornflour

Combination

  • Noddles of choice, we only had dried egg noodles, cook per instructions - see tips below
  • Desired contents protein and veg, all veg, whatever, this is a versatile sauce

Steps

  1. Combine cornflour and soy sauce together, then add all the other sauce ingredients
  2. Heat wok up, or pan but honestly wok's are inexpensive and amazing
  3. Add veg oil
  4. When smoking hot add protein and cook through mostly, remove
  5. Add veg and cook through
  6. Add protein back in then add noodles then add sauce
  7. Cook for a few minutes
  8. Literally like 5 minutes is all it takes

Tips

  • Ever cook a stir fry with dried noodles and it all mooshes together? It's because you're over cooking your noodles. if cooking from dry, follow the instructions then rise with cold water. Basically you're getting rid of all the starches and stopping the noods from cooking.
  • I'm not going to tell you what to put in a stir fry, but this recipe is a go to for when you just want to use stuff up. Is it authentic? Fuck off. Is it tasty? Too right.
