Tonight is superbowl sunday. I used to follow the NFL fairly closely, probably because of the earlyish start times. Superbowl became a tradition for me and Martin. I think for about 15 years we watched it every year. COVID and life put and end to it and now we live hundreds of miles apart, as opposed to round the corner.
But we're older and wiser and rarely drink on empty tummies.
The plan was a lorne sausage and morning roll breakfast sandwich. That sort of happened but instead of the rolls, that are taking twice as long to prove as expected, the square sausage and egg is sandwiched between tattie scones.
Delicious.
Little Beryl Dog Face is not very well so now she is on a diet of chicken and rice and vegetables. The good news is that recipe has gifted us some leftover rice. Which means fried rice, obviously.
I threw in some Chinese cabbage and kimchi. Some frozen dumplings and leftover sausage. It was good.
Dinner was a chicken burger at a pub in Shoreditch. The burger was ok, the fries were naff and the "burnt ends" were diced pork belly in a sticky sweet sauce.
I wouldn't say no to a return but I'm also not going to go out of my way.
