Another odd day in the limbo before returning to the day job. Food went undocumented.
My first session back in the gym since getting some kind of flu around Christmas and it hurt. And so it begins.
Breakfast was some leftover home smoked salmon on toast with cream cheese. I have another 500g or so if the lad in the freezer, joy.
Post gym protein shake.
Occasionally there are those moments that take you back to a place of comfort. Mum's house, after school, after rugby practice in the rain. That kind of thing.
I caught a glimpse of that feeling this evening. After standing on the street corner waiting for a buyer to pickup an item sold - exercise bike, not drugs - and after troubleshooting a problem with it, lifting into the back of a car, I had completely forgotten that a bolognese sauce was simmering away on the hob.
Walking back inside to a flat filled with tomato and garlic and onion once more, that unforgettable perfume of childhood. I could have cried if it were not so joyous.
